BLEED ME (Scullion)

2025 continues to yield some surprisingly creative stuff from the underbelly of modern trap music, and records of this high-intensity, high-movement calibre tend to hit really hard. This is no exception.

The good: SCULLION works his way through the modern ISOKNOCK-inspired trap wave in a fashion I can only really describe as spartan. It's perhaps not as bloody as the branding suggests, nor is it actually that violent, but it hoists tropes almost as quickly as it rips through them in a flurry of merciless, innovative bass stabs. "BLEED ME" is nasty, vigorously nasty, across all 5 tracks - but honestly, it's pretty clean as well, with none of these tracks running into any major issues with mixdowns and abrasiveness, pitfalls a lot of cuts in this style tend to stumble into.

The bad: I do find myself wishing the final two tracks had taken a different direction, both for their independent value but also for the value of the EP, since I feel like most of the hybrid trap ideas had been used up by the first three. That's not to say the final two are bad, just not as good, and they do bring the EP down a little for me.
