Beginner-friendly? sometimes

Releases have run pretty dry for Vorso as of late, but this project is a journey across the mechanical, sweeping atmospheres of a core through space.

The good: Sound design is, as expected, the highlight of "CORE". Vorso is technical as ever, and the more conceptual ideas this EP explores really benefit from the meticulous balance between mechanical slamming and spacious ambience — and that balance is struck practically perfectly.

The bad: It's mainly "Departure" that lets this tracklist down for me, because — whilst I do respect it for being more withdrawn and atmosphere-oriented — it doesn't quite feel like the explosive finale this EP deserved.

Name Comments Superlative
Time Trial A real variety of sound design here, some stronger mechanical DnB and some great liquidy atmospheres Intense
CORE Sick, distorted lasery dubstep with punch and a lot of attention to detail and space in the mix, and innovative movements Standout
New Trajectory House tune that has a surprising amount of bounce and mechanical progression to it alongside the powerful sound design Switchup
Departure Prolonged ambient finale, has some nice swirling sound design but the lead does get kind of repetitive Atmospheric
