Beginner-friendly? no. not at all.
Ripping through the spacetime of the airwaves comes the "Corps Noir" EP — meaning "black body", as in the scientific concept of a "black body" — with enough aggression and vengeance to slice through metal.
The good: Though predicated upon scientific themes, nothing about "Corps Noir" is scientific. No, it's produced with a savage, primal, almost terrifying violence, like an out-of-control criticality accident in a nuclear reactor, or the splitting of an atom to release mammoth amounts of energy and mammoth ammounts of bass. Tryst Temps aim "Corps Noir" like a shotgun — a scattershot of neurofunk's most aggressive, merciless production across its four tracks.
The bad: Some of these mix and masters are a little harsh — whether intentionally or not — and its unrelenting intensity can be a little overwhelming.
Name | Comments | Superlative |
---|---|---|
Warp Drive | Insane first buildup and some insane grinding neuro drops with plenty of dynamicism and clever synth arrangement | Intense |
Planck | Love the melodic work on this, sound design is immaculate and the neuro drops are done really well | Standout |
Corps Noir | Now this HITS, gritty and stompy, master feels a little off but this is an insane idea with insane execution | Heavy |
Nuclear Bomb Alarm | I have no idea what's going on and I love it — drops are far too complicated and growly and it literally is a nuke on my ears, crazy stuff | Heavy |
