Beginner-friendly? except the final track, yeah
Simple old-school future bass is often the best old-school future bass, as long as it knows what it's doing.
The good: Eclipse does indeed aim for some simple old-school future bass. Two bright supersaw-driven tracks in "Dawn" and "Hold on", alongside a glittery title track infused with Jaron's powerful production style, allow "Lunar" to have a sufficient warm, melodic, almost euphoric quality to it.
The bad: Aside from the closer "Grime" completely forgetting what the rest of the EP was about, "Lunar" does drag its tracks on a little to the point of tiring them out. It's simple old-school future bass, sure, but it doesn't really know what it's doing.
Name | Comments | Superlative |
---|---|---|
Hold on | Muted production and a simplistic vocal, with some clean future bass drops — drags on a bit, though | Melodic |
Lunar | Jaron's explosive, sparkly production style comes through here in a pretty heated future bass track | Standout |
Dawn | Lovely future bass track with glittery sound design and plenty of tasteful vocal chopping | Melodic |
Grime | Makes no sense in the context of the EP as a harder, more abrasive bass tune, with brash, albeit a little annoying, sampling | Switchup |
